Harbour at sunset

I've always loved the harbour front by my apartment, it's just a gorgeous place be. After walking and jogging through it so many times, I thought I knew it pretty well... that is until I took a walk at sunset. I regret not doing that earlier.

I don't know what kind of spell the setting sun casts over the harbour, but it's wonderful magic. The glow of the sun gives off a brilliant, soft, golden tone, that makes everything it touches look and feel more peaceful and relaxing. You really can't help but feel at peace with the world.

It beautifully reflects that time of the day: the sun is setting, the day is ending, people are winding down from a long day of work (or play); it's time to relax for a bit before the chaos of the city night life takes over.

It's just such a stark contrast from the built-up city areas of Hong Kong. Where thousands of people are forever rushing about, exhaust from grid-locked cars permeate the air, loud noises mix together to form one impenetrable wall of sound, and skyscrapers are so tall and condensed that the only indication of sunset is when the upper windows of the builds glow orange. The peaceful harbour with its golden glow is a chance to take it slow and relax. It's a breath of fresh air (something that is literally hard to get in Hong Kong).
