Pretty Girl
If I hear one more customer service or sales representative address me with the line, "Browse at your leisure, pretty girl", "How can I help you, pretty girl?", or "pretty girl, [insert sentence here]", I will punch something.
In Hong Kong, women are sometimes addressed with the words, "lang lui", which in a sense can mean "ms.", but literally translates as "pretty girl". Usually people address you in this way when they want something from you (go figure). You'd think it'd be flattering to be called pretty by random people, but it's actually extremely annoying.
Maybe I'm just being picky and making a fuss out of nothing, but when I hear a sales rep say this the same line over, and over, and over again, addressing every female that walks into the store, sometimes addressing me multiple times... it gets pretty damn irritating. It's like having an excessively squawky parrot sitting on your shoulder and churning out that one phrase every 2 minutes.
I'll browse at my own leisure! I get it!
